Cowgirls Close Regular Season With A Win At Ozarks

CLARKSVILLE, Ark.  – Hardin-Simmons' women's basketball team closed the regular season with a 75-62 win at Ozarks on Saturday afternoon in Clarksville, Ark.

The Cowgirls held the Eagles to 32,4 percent shooting in the game and had a 36-22 advantage in the paint.

Ozarks opened the game on a 6-0 run but the Cowgirls responded with a 15-0 run fueled by Parris Parmer's nine points. She hit a pair of 3-pointers and had a conventional 3-point play. HSU led 17-9 after the first quarter.

The Cowgirls pushed the lead to 26-16 before an 11-2 Ozarks run cut the lead to 28-27. HSU answered with a strong end of the quarter and led 38-31 at halftime. HSU put the game away with a 12-0 run out of the halftime locker room and never led by less than 13 points the rest of the way.  

Parmer led the Cowgirls with 25 points and Kaitlyn Ellis added 16 points. Keilee Burke had nine points and 11 rebounds. Kerigan Bradshaw paced the Eagles with 20 points.

HSU is now 19-6 on the year and 13-3 in league play. The Cowgirls will be No. 2 seed out of the ASC West and will play LeTourneau in the first round of the ASC Tournament on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Richardson. Ozarks closed its season with a record of 6-19 overall and 1-15 in league play.
