RICHARDSON, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' men's soccer team won 2-0 over JWU Denver playing at the campus of UT Dallas in Richardson on Saturday night.
Kiko Redondo scored in the sixth minute off a Frane Vidosevic assist to give the Cowboys the lead 1-0. Jose Victor scored to end the half off a Luke Braswell assist to make it a 2-0 Cowboy lead that they would hold for the win.
The Cowboys led with 15 shots and six on goal to JWU's six shots and three on goal. The Cowboys also had eight corners to JWU's three.
Rafa Mejorado got the start in the net and got the win for the Cowboys with three saves. JWU keeper Brandon Coder had four saves in his start and the loss.
The Cowboys are now 3-0 on the season and will play in Abilene next Wednesday night with the HSU Soccer double header against Texas College starting with the women at 6 p.m.
